Come and meet Durham’s very own dragon and dance with a ‘bone queen,’ at this fascinating display of the North-East’s theatre heritage, featuring REED North East. This free event, to which all are welcome, takes place in the Department of Music, Palace Green, Durham on 3rd June, from 19.00 to 20.30.
The Dragon and the Bone Queen will include a show of medieval and Renaissance music and costume. With Hector Sequera (lute), Barbara Ravelhofer (speaker), and various performers, including a 16-ft dragon inspired by the worm legends of the North East.
The dragon and the bone queen made their first appearance in our show The Sacred and the Profane in July 2016. Check out the full act below, and then come along on June 3rd to meet the performers up close and to find out more about what these strange festivities are all about.
This event forms part of the Durham Festival of the Arts taking place throughout Durham City from 2nd to 3rd June.
