This production will stage an adaptation of the Resurrection sequence from the York&#8217;s medieval mystery play cycle. The event will be staged on pageant wagons in the lovely open-air surroundings of Dean&#8217;s Park next to York Minster. If you&#8217;re going to be in the York area this weekend, you might consider putting this rare live theatrical event on your calendar. Tickets (for \u00a35) can be purchased from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketsource.co.uk\/york-mystery-plays-supporters-trust\">Ticketsource<\/a>. Here are further details from the YMPST website:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are bringing an outdoor production from York\u2019s Mystery Play cycle to the city on 3 and 4 July 2021.&nbsp; Philip Parr is directing a cast of community actors and musicians in an hour-long production, which looks at the experience of people after the crucifixion of Christ.&nbsp; The production moves us from an experience of terror and suffering to one of hope of a brighter future and reflects the feelings of a society affected by the pandemic.&nbsp; Hope is the key theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The play takes place in the Residents\u2019 Gardens adjoining&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/nnNGAByJR7Wafk7T7\">Dean\u2019s Park<\/a>&nbsp;at York Minster and is the result of a three-way partnership between York Festival Trust, York Minster and York Mystery Plays Supporters Trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tickets and things you might need to know!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You can buy your ticket by following this link to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ticketsource.co.uk\/york-mystery-plays-supporters-trust\">Ticketsource<\/a><\/li><li>It is an outdoor production with no seating provided \u2013 but bring your own chair or rug if you wish to sit.<\/li><li>It costs \u00a35 and there will be no refund for cancellation due to bad weather.<\/li><li>There is no charge for Pre-school age children or for carers accompanying wheelchair users.<\/li><li>No refreshments or toilets are available on site.&nbsp; The nearest public toilet is in&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/goo.gl\/maps\/ExkqakhMEcvuB8ps8\">Exhibition Square<\/a>.<\/li><li>The nearest parking is at&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.york.gov.uk\/directory-record\/421\/monk-bar-car-park-yo31-7qr\">St Johns<\/a>, Lord Mayor\u2019s Walk:<\/li><li>You can be dropped off by car at the entrance to Deans Park and there is parking for blue badge holders in Duncombe Place.<\/li><li>The production will be operating within the Government\u2019s Covid 19 guidelines current at the time.&#8221;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230; A timely event for parts of the UK on the verge of &#8216;opening-up&#8217; after lockdown: this weekend, the York Mystery Plays Supporters Trust is staging &#8216;A Resurrection for York&#8217;.
