There was also a specially designed <a href=\"https:\/\/reed-ne.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/?page_id=577\">stage dragon<\/a>, inspired by the North East&#8217;s legends of worms and dragons. For the hundreds of viewers, the show reproduced the kind of traditions\u00a0that Durham&#8217;s citizens might have experienced centuries ago.<\/p>\n<p>Go behind the scenes and discover\u00a0how we <a href=\"https:\/\/reed-ne.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/?page_id=661\">developed\u00a0period\u00a0costumes<\/a>, and what happened when we pulled together the talents of university students, professionals and the local public to <a href=\"https:\/\/reed-ne.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/?page_id=659\">rehearse and learn all about historical dance<\/a> in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Then <a href=\"https:\/\/reed-ne.webspace.durham.ac.uk\/?page_id=657\">relive the show<\/a> itself, which took place at dusk on Palace Green on 10th July 2016, and soak up the atmosphere as the modern audience mingled with historical performers &#8211;
