This was brought to Durham by an Italian showman to thrill local people. According to\u00a0the 1569 parish register of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stnics.org.uk\/\">St Nicholas\u2019 Church<\/a>, the dragon:<\/p>\n<blockquote style=\"font-size: 0.9em;\"><p>was taken &amp; killed by speciall pollicie in \u00c6thiopia within the Turke\u2019s dominions.
